The St Kentigern Senior Boys and Specialist Facilities building is the first of three major developments to be completed since the decision
to co-locate the St Kentigern Boys’ School, Girls’ School and Preschool on the Shore Road campus.
The completion of this high-quality Architectus-designed building allows the Boys’ School to decant other buildings for renovation and ultimately increase its roll while providing improved specialist facilities for both the Boys’ School and the Girls’ School.
The northern part of the building provides twelve new classrooms while the southern part of the building accommodates specialist teaching facilities including spaces for art, music, dance, drama, design, science, food technology, soft materials and hard materials.
The design of the building reflects the predominant architectural character of the buildings in its immediate environs via its articulated roof form, integrated arcades, brick cladding and strong language of verticality via the brick piers, helping it to sit comfortably alongside the existing components of the campus.
