Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School is located on the edge of Takanini.
Previously home of the “Cheeky Chicken” chicken farm, now home to “chicks” of the human variety.
Designed, consented and constructed in the middle of Auckland’s construction boom, its completion in 2017 is nothing short of miraculous.
For this project was a perfect storm of challenges, including a residential zoning, flood hazards, contaminated soil, weak ground conditions, lack of infrastructure, an incredibly tight timeframe and an unreceptive council.
Despite these challenges, the school was approved on a non-notified basis, and opened less than two years after the first hand-drawn sketches were issued for feedback from the project team.
